Your Chance to Own “Lost” and YOU Name the Price!

In the spirit of the holiday, I would love to make my work more available to you!

I have just finished painting Lost (acrylic on canvas; 11 x 14 inches) and I would love to have it go to one of my Facebook friends!

From now through December 31, 2017, I am going to let you “make me an offer” on Lost.

On December 31, at 10PM (US eastern), I will review all of the offers and Lost will go to the person who has made the highest offer. I will pay for shipping within the US and Canada, but buyers outside of North America will be asked to pay for shipping in excess of $US35.

Please send your offers to SMITH@ANARTPIECE.COM . I will reply to all emails to acknowledge receipt and to answer any questions you might have.

Good luck and Merry Christmas to you all!

A New Commission – Earth, Water & Fire Webs

Dec. 11, 2017

I am delighted to announce that I have just been commissioned to create a 3-painting series for a client in Greenwich, CT.

While I have agreed not to mention his name online, he is a well-known patron of the arts and my paintings will hang among some prestigious artists.

The client initially wanted to purchase all three pieces in my Web District series (viewable in the Gallery), but has opted instead to have me create a similar series that will complement the decor of his home theater room.

Each painting will embody an element of nature – Earth (with natural tones of umber, clay, sienna, etc.); Water (with shades of blue, white, and silver); and Fire (with shades yellows, oranges, reds, and black).

I am excited to dive into this new project and, if the client permits, I will post photos here for you to see.

Art Basel & Wynwood Art District – Miami, FL

Dec. 6, 2017

I just arrived in Miami for the 2018 Art Basel and, even though I am tired to the bone because I have been up for about 27 hours, I am so happy to be here.

The show officially opens to the public tomorrow at the Miami Beach Convention Center

In their own words, this is how the describe the show:

“In our American show, leading galleries from North America, Latin America, Europe, Asia and Africa show significant work from the masters of Modern and contemporary art, as well the new generation of emerging stars. Paintings, sculptures, installations, photographs, films, and editioned works of the highest quality are on display in the main exhibition hall. Ambitious largeā€scale artworks, films and performances become part of the city’s outdoor landscape at nearby Collins Park and SoundScape Park.”

In my own words (based on what I saw at last year’s show, and expect to see this year), I would simply describe the experience as AWE-INSPIRING.

As an artist, I admire and inspired by so many different types of work – regardless of whether they are in a style that is similar to my own or not.

While I am here, I’ll also be visiting the Wynwood Art District again. With over 70 galleries, museums, and collections there is something for everyone!

I’ll keep you posted on my Facebook page and share some of my favorite pieces with you there!
