Dec. 6, 2017
I just arrived in Miami for the 2018 Art Basel and, even though I am tired to the bone because I have been up for about 27 hours, I am so happy to be here.
The show officially opens to the public tomorrow at the Miami Beach Convention Center
In their own words, this is how the describe the show:
“In our American show, leading galleries from North America, Latin America, Europe, Asia and Africa show significant work from the masters of Modern and contemporary art, as well the new generation of emerging stars. Paintings, sculptures, installations, photographs, films, and editioned works of the highest quality are on display in the main exhibition hall. Ambitious large‐scale artworks, films and performances become part of the city’s outdoor landscape at nearby Collins Park and SoundScape Park.”
In my own words (based on what I saw at last year’s show, and expect to see this year), I would simply describe the experience as AWE-INSPIRING.
As an artist, I admire and inspired by so many different types of work – regardless of whether they are in a style that is similar to my own or not.
While I am here, I’ll also be visiting the Wynwood Art District again. With over 70 galleries, museums, and collections there is something for everyone!
I’ll keep you posted on my Facebook page and share some of my favorite pieces with you there!
